Is Epic Extender Pro better than Jes-Extender?
On the device, yes. Jes-Extender is nicely made, properly finished and comes with a published warranty, and they are honest enough to print the size each model fits. What the device cannot do is show you your tension, record a session, or keep working past their published size cap. The Epic Pro does all three. They are cheaper, at $179.95 to $302.95 depending on the model.
What size does each Jes-Extender fit?
This is the most important thing to check before you order. Their own product pages say the Light "can only be used on member sizes up to 17cm (6.7 inches)", and that the Original, the Titanium and the Straightener are suitable up to 24cm (9.1 inches). Credit to them for publishing it, because plenty of brands do not. The Epic Pro uses adjustable rods with longer rods available, so it keeps working as you grow.
How much tension does a Jes-Extender apply?
They do not publish a figure for any model, and there is no readout on the device. Their design sets length by adding elongation bars against internal springs, so what you are actually pulling is not something you can check. The Epic Pro shows the number on a screen in kilograms or pounds, and goes to 22 lb.
What is the difference between the Light, Original and Titanium?
The Light is $179.95, has a 1 year warranty, four elongation bars and the 6.7 inch size cap. The Original is $199.95 in a mahogany case with a 2 year warranty and six bars. The Titanium is $219.95 in an aluminium flight case with a 2 year warranty and eight bars, including a half inch pair for finer steps. There is also a Straightener for curvature at $259.95 and a Titanium XXL at $302.95.
Can I return a Jes-Extender if it does not suit me?
Only if you have not opened it. Their refund policy says the right of return on intimate products expires when you open the sealed product packaging, and that opened products cannot be returned or refunded. You also have to notify them within 14 days of delivery, send back the full kit in its original packaging, and freight is deducted from the refund. Epic comes with a 180-day money back guarantee whether the box is opened or not.
Their pages say guaranteed results or your money back. How does that work?
Every Jes-Extender product page carries the line "Guaranteed results ... or your money back", followed by an asterisk and the words "Terms apply". The terms themselves are not set out on the product pages, so you would need to ask them what the qualifying period and evidence requirements are before you buy. Ours is 180 days, no conditions, just ask.
Who has the better warranty?
They do, on paper, and we will say so. Jes-Extender publish one year on the Light and two years on the Original and the Titanium, printed on the product page. We replace a damaged or faulty unit free, and buyers describe exactly that happening in their reviews. Where we are far ahead is the guarantee that covers you changing your mind: 180 days against their 14.
Does anything on the Epic Pro wear out?
The silicone sleeves do. On a regular routine of an hour or more a day, expect to swap them about once a month, often longer, and replacements are cheap. Everything else, the cup, the rods, the base and the display, you keep. Jes-Extender have the same kind of running cost across their straps, tubes and pads, and their shop lists every part individually.
Why is the Epic Pro more expensive?
$219.95 for their Titanium against $379 for the Pro. The extra buys the digital tension display, rods that adjust rather than a fixed size class, and an app that reads the device instead of your memory. If you want the Epic build without the screen, the Epic Extender Full Set is $259, the Best Extender V5.0 is $256 and the All Day Stretcher is $199, and they carry the same cups, the same course, the same support and the same 180-day guarantee.
How long should I wear an extender each day?
Start at 30 minutes a day on low tension for the first week, then build gradually towards 1 to 4 hours. Stop immediately if you feel numbness, pain or a colour change. Traction works through consistency over months, not through pulling harder, which is exactly why knowing your real tension number matters so much.
