  • Overall size uses length and girth together. In 9,882 men in our app the two are linked (correlation 0.42), and we use that for every study.
  • Reviews that mix in self-measured studies (Belladelli 2023, Mostafaei 2025) are shown for context only.
  • * The study gives only the average. We use the typical spread from doctor studies (Veale 2015) for it.
  • Regions in the calculator combine their studies, weighted by how many men each measured.

Measured by doctors, the average erect penis is about 5.2 inches long and 4.6 inches around (13.12 by 11.66 cm, Veale 2015). Men who measure at home report more. The middle value in our app is 6.26 by 5.0 inches.

Is 6 inches big?

Yes, compared with doctor studies. A 6 inch length, pressed to the bone, is longer than 90 out of 100 men measured by doctors. Among men who measured at home in our app it is longer than 37 out of 100.

How rare is 8 inches?

Very rare in doctor studies, fewer than 1 in 10,000 men. Men who measure at home report it more often. In our app about 1 in 29 men logged 8 inches or more, pressed to the bone.

Why do size calculators give different answers?

They compare you with different groups. Doctor studies give lower numbers than men who measure themselves, and studies measure in different ways. Pick who to compare with in the calculator, or see your result in every study at once.

Should I press the ruler to the bone?

Yes, if you can. It gives the same number every time, because the fat pad no longer counts. In our app, pressing added 0.51 inches for the typical man.

Does size matter to women?

Less than most men think. In Baseem's street poll, women picked an average of 5.7 by 5.0 inches for a long-term partner, and 11 of 14 said size would not be a deal breaker. A lab study found similar picks (Prause 2015).

Can you make your penis bigger?

Yes, with time. Extenders add length and pumps add girth. In our app, 90% of men with 250+ extender hours gained length, and the top 10% who kept going for a year gained 1.65 inches or more, length and girth combined.
