11,267 men. Half start between 5.6" and 6.9", and the middle man starts at 6.26". Men measure themselves, and men who want to train are not a random sample, so this is not a population average. For comparison, a review of measurements taken by health professionals found an average erect length of 13.12 cm, about 5.17 inches (Veale et al., BJU International, 2015). Men in our app report about an inch more. Self-measuring and who chooses to train likely both play a part.

How men train
Regular users (8 or more training days across 4 or more weeks, 2,083 men) train about 2.26 days a week and log a median of 1.93 hours of traction a week.

Who sticks with it
Most men stop early. Half of the men who start an extender stop logging within a month. That matters more than any device spec, because hours are what the results follow.

"Still logging" means the man logged at least one session that many weeks or more after his first. Each point only counts men who started long enough ago to be measured: 4,575 men at 1 week, 2,371 at 1 year. Some men keep training without logging, so real dropout is somewhat lower.

Tension and pressure
Men build up slowly. The Epic Pro reads extender tension and the Epic Pump reads vacuum, and both send it to the app. Manual logs fill in the rest.

74% noticed something within the first month.
The first change is usually erection quality or flaccid hang, at about 3 weeks.
Erect length comes later. In our app the typical man first measured a quarter inch longer at month 9.
34 members who said when they first noticed a change, read one by one. The middle half said 2 to 6.5 weeks. Men who notice something are more likely to post about it.

How this compares to clinical studies
Traction trials are small, but they point the same way as our data. More wear brings more length. These are the numbers each paper reports in its abstract.
"Stretched" means stretched while soft. Only one size study measured erect length. Peyronie's and prostate studies are included because they measured length gains from traction.
In the size trials
4 to 9 h
of wear a day, for 3 to 6 months
1.2 to 2.3 cm
average length gain, flaccid, stretched or erect
In our app
1.9 h
of traction a week for the typical regular user
+0.55" (about 1.4 cm)
typical gain for men who logged 250+ hours
Men who put in trial-like hours got trial-like results. Most men never put in those hours: only 5% of men who logged traction reached 250 hours.
Length held, while untreated men lost about 1.6 cm
The pump studies we found measured length, not girth. We found no trial of girth from pumping in healthy men, which is why our own girth data matters.
What the reviews say. Reviews rate this evidence as low quality: the studies are small and few have a control group. A 2020 review found extenders added flaccid length, but under 2 cm, and found vacuum pumps did not add size (Marra et al., Sexual Medicine Reviews). The US urology guideline for Peyronie's disease makes no recommendation on traction, and a 2021 European statement said the evidence is not strong enough for firm guidance. In the US, vacuum pumps are regulated as Class II devices for erections (21 CFR 876.5020), not as enlargement devices.

Method and limits
Where the data comes from
PE Trainer app. 18,917 accounts, July 2023 to October 2026. Training sessions men logged by hand or that the Epic Pro and Epic Pump sent by Bluetooth, and monthly measurements men entered themselves.
Epic Discord. 121,807 messages from 1,763 men who posted, May 2023 to October 2026. About 7,300 men joined.
Our quiz. 22,723 answer sets, April to October 2026.
How we counted
Sessions from 0.5 to 360 minutes were kept. Measurements outside believable ranges were dropped, and changes larger than 2 inches (length) or 1.5 inches (girth) were treated as typing errors.
A man's change is his latest measurement minus his first. Only men who measured in 2 or more different months count.
Length is bone-pressed erect length (BPEL). Girth is erect girth around the middle of the shaft.
Pump pressure only counts readings where the stored value matches its unit, because some early app builds labeled units wrongly.
Only totals left the app server. No names, emails or single-person records were exported.
What this data cannot tell you
It is self-reported. Men measure themselves, and measuring is never exact. That is why men who logged no training still show a small gain.
There is no control group. This is an observational study, not a clinical trial.
Survivorship. Men who see results are more likely to keep measuring. Only about 14% of men who measure ever measure again a month or more later.
Incentives. Since June 2024 our founder has offered $1,000 for a documented 1 inch gain, and our Discord coaches are also affiliates. Community stories are not independent.
We sell these devices. Read the numbers with that in mind. We publish the method and the data so anyone can check them.

Months, not weeks. In our app the typical man was up 0.08 inches after one month, 0.28 inches by month 6 and 0.47 inches by month 12. Among men who measured for a year, the typical one first measured a quarter inch longer at month 9.
How many hours does it take to see extender results?
Results follow total hours. In our app, 90% of men who logged 250 or more hours of traction measured longer, and 59% gained half an inch or more. Under 25 hours, results were close to measuring error.
What percentage of men get results from a penis extender?
Of men in our app who measured over 12 months or more, 78% measured longer, with a median gain of 0.35 inches. Results vary a lot from man to man, and the data is self-reported.
How many men quit penis enlargement training?
Most. In our app, 48% of men who start an extender stop logging within a month, and only 21% are still logging a year later.
Is it better to train every day or do longer sessions?
More days beat longer days. Men who trained 3 or more days a week were least likely to measure shorter (2% against 10% for under 1.5 days a week). Men who wore an extender 90 or more minutes a day did no better than men who wore it under 90.
Does a penis extender make you thinner?
Not in our data. Men who only extended had a median girth change of 0.00 inches.
Do penis pumps increase girth permanently?
The swelling after a session fades within hours. Over months, 72% of men in our app with 50 or more pump hours measured thicker, with a typical gain of 0.24 inches. Men who never pumped mostly did not.
What size are men who start penis enlargement?
In our app the middle man starts at 6.26 inches bone-pressed erect length and 5.00 inches erect girth. These are self-measurements from men who chose to train, not a population average.
Where does this data come from?
From the PE Trainer app (sessions and measurements men log), the Epic Discord and our quiz. Only totals left the app server. The method section explains every filter.
